Concentrated Hop Pellets

Form of Hop
Concentrated Hop Pellets
(Type 45)

Description of Process
Hopsteiner Concentrated Hop Pellet processing and packaging is similar to regular hop pellets except the hop powder is mechanically separated during processing to form a concentrated powder.

The hop power is first chilled to minus 20ºC causing the lupulin glands to become brittle and easily separated. A sophisticated screening process is employed to separate the lupulin from the strigs, bracts and stems. The concentrated alpha-acids can be standardized by adding back a small portion of the leaf fraction to the lupulin powder. The concentrated powder is then pelletized and results in a considerable increase of the real brewing value while retaining the flavor impact of the whole hop cones.

Stability
Hopsteiner Concentrated Pellets achieve the same enhanced stability characteristics of regular pellets when compared to baled hops.
